“Oceanport” Charlie turned 4 years old the other day, and for that, he gets a free walk from Shore Dog Walkers.
We have a few Charlies on our dog walking route. There is Sea Bright Charlie. There is Monmouth Beach Charlie. This is Oceanport Charlie.
Oceanport Charlie is a handsome looking guy, but he has the physical size and “chiseled” features of the type of dog that does not get many “Happy Birthdays!” from the other dogs he sees while out for a walk. In fact, the owners of other dogs out for a walk are likely to lead “Fluffy” to the other side of the street when they see Charlie cruising in their direction.
Despite Charlie’s intimidating gaze and athletic build, he has no interest in “Fifi” or the other “low-to-the-ground”, weekly groomed, neighborhood dogs, that are always yapping about something.
The next time you see Charlie walking down the street, wish him a Happy Birthday. He really is a nice guy.
